Make Sense out of Nonsense
Chances are you've had just about enough of the Lowndes Holding Corp. Quarry Proposal. In the past 6 weeks alone we've had 2 large scale Municipal Public Meetings. And if you are like many of us, you'd like it to "just go away".
Unfortunately without us keeping up the pressure, that's unlikely to happen. We need to stay focused on our opposition, and you owe it to yourself to understand the truth on this important matter, not the fluff presented by the proponent.
For instance the proponent continues to claim:
- that there will be no impact on private, communal, or the Carlisle municipal wells.
- that despite the growing markets for aggregate in Milton and north Burlington, no trucks will travel south or east from the proposed quarry.
- that the application is privately funded by "just Dad and me".
- that they are "working with the community", even though they refuse to let any of us or our hired experts on the site to validate their technical reports.
On Wednesday May 17th FORCE will be holding the 3rd Annual General Meeting discussing our fight against the proposed quarry. This is not a City or Region driven meeting, the FORCE Annual General Meeting is a meeting for the Community by the Community. Graham Flint, FORCE Chair, will present a summary of our recent activities and successes, as well as speak to our upcoming plans. We will also review the Proponent's case and explain why it doesn't hold up and therefore why we can win.
Hear Rick Smith, Executive Director of Environmental Defence Canada address the importance of our case to drinking water protection and the Greenbelt, and therefore how they can help.
Come out to hear the facts, become informed, and show your support.
