2004 Annual Report
Not-For-Profit Governance Report
Friends of Rural Communities and the Environment (FORCE) was registered as a not-for-profit organization on June 28th, 2004
The name was selected by the Steering Committee (elected on June 9th, 2004) after corporate searches were undertaken to ensure that the name was available for the not-for-profit corporation and not in use by some other organization.
A structure to guide the work of the Steering Committee was developed and approved. It includes:
- Adoption of Formal Bylaws
- Corporate Resolutions to Define Officers & Directors (Officers include: Chair, Vice-Chair, & Treasurer)
- Corporate Resolutions to define Members
- Corporate Resolutions to define Processes for Financial & Contractual Matters
- Policies regarding the Collection & Protection of Personal Information
- Policies regarding Conflict of Interest & Required Disclosure
- Securing of Directors’ Liability Insurance and General Commercial Liability Insurance
- Appointment of Auditors
